Community Corrections Center

On August 17, 2017 Belknap County opened a new Community Corrections Center (CCC). This 18,410 square foot facility was designed to provide a comprehensive treatment, counseling, and education program to participants deemed to be at high risk for substance misuse and likelihood to reoffend. The Community Corrections Center has 72 beds with half designated for use by individuals court ordered to the Corrections Opportunity for Recovery and Education (CORE) program. The CORE program consists of four phases:

  • Phase 1: Intensive 3-month treatment plan monitored by Counselors and Case Managers.
  • Phase 2: Work Release. Participants work in the community and live in the CCC with the opportunity to attend evening programming.
  • Phase 3: Electronic Monitoring. Participants that qualify will live in approved local housing with continued supervision from Community Corrections staff.
  • Phase 4: Re-entry back to the community. Enhanced aftercare will be provided to participants with additional supervision from Probation & Parole Officers.

The Belknap County Department of Corrections has partnered with Horizons Counseling Center to deliver the CORE program in the CCC. CORE is based on cognitive behavioral treatment which provides participants the tools for sustained recovery after release from the Belknap County Department of Corrections.
