New Hampshire R.S.A. 159:19 Courthouse Security, prohibits persons from carrying weapons into the courthouse facility. “No person shall knowingly carry a loaded or unloaded pistol, revolver, or firearm or any other deadly weapon as defined in RSA 625:11, V, whether open or concealed or whether licensed or unlicensed, upon the person or within any of the person’s possessions owned or within the person’s control in a courtroom or area used by the court.” Violation of this statute is a Class B. felony.

If you are authorized to carry a firearm and you will be visiting the Courthouse, the preferred option is to secure your firearm safely prior to entry to the Courthouse.

If you do not have a safe place to secure your weapon, we have a limited capacity to secure weapons at the facility. Please notify the Deputy or Bailiff at the security screening area that you wish to secure a firearm in your possession prior to passing through the metal detector.

Do not remove the firearm/weapon from your person until you have notified the Deputy or Bailiff of weapon possession and you have been instructed on the safe procedure for a secure transfer of the weapon.
